The main idea behind this song is that we should sing of both sadness and joy and in all things give thanks, for both are real and part of life. It goes along with the song I wrote to the Scripture “In All Things Give Thanks.”
Good times shared, he’s forgotten now
Old friends that wear, are strangers to him now
When can a child no longer keep a toy?
When does he finally see that he is not a boy?
Presents from his loves, pictures in the file
Does he still cling to them for a while?
What childhood dreams does he still live by?
When does he finally say good-bye?
Chorus:
Sing of sadness, sing of sorrow
For it too is real with the joy that feel
Bum ba da dum ba da dum ba da da dum ba da dum
ba da dum ba da dum ba da da da da da dum
