ONE LIFE TO LIVE
aka SWAMIS YOGIS

Originally it was my friend Randy Stonehill who was asked to write this theme song for Cording-Humphries Films. Bob Cording, an Emmy Award winner who has produced of over 50 films and videos, was President of Omega Films and Questar 7 Productions. Randy was unable to take on this project because of other commitments, so he asked me if I would do it. I was happy to do so. The other song I wrote for this movie is entitled: "You Can be Free." "One Life to Live" is one of the very few rock songs I wrote and produced. But this one really has a voltage. My friend Jay Leon, who used to hang out with Keith Green when we were all living in LA, is the lead singer. At the time, Rick Azim was the guitarist for Second Chapter of Acts, and my next door neighbor. His wife Diane is singing background vocals. I am playing a D-35 12 String Martin Guitar [and my D-35 6 String Martin at the very beginning]. These days I no longer play a 12 string, as it was stolen. Another one of my guitars was shattered on an airplane when being shipped to me when I was in the U.S. Army at Vulcan Missile Maintenance School in El Paso, Texas.
Swamis yogis claim to guide you to a higher plain
Wisdom seekers, prophet-peekers, meditators are reeling your brain
But the only path is through Him who on a cross was slain
YOU'VE ONE LIFE TO LIVE
SO WHY DON'T YOU GIVE IT TO THE SON
YOU'VE TOO MUCH TO LOSE
IF YOU REFUSE HIS PLAN OF SALVATION
