This short reflection is based on the free fall of the church into apostasy. It is a lamentation, like Jeremiah’s. It captures one of the strongest sobering warnings and questions that Jesus Christ posed, and that is: “When I return, will I find the faith on the earth?”
The fire is gone
The fuel is spent
The hour is here
And we still have no fear
There is no one left who will repent
They still reject the one He sent
There is a disease throughout the land
They say it is the worst there has ever been
It kills through the blood an eternal death
