NO SEQUEL
aka BEAUTIFUL CREATION
Text and Music by Gregg Vernon

You must be wondering why I included this song on my In Concert release. One reason, Gregg is a good friend and was my best man in Karen and my wedding. Gregg is the son of Bob Vernon, who was a member of the well-known Vernon Brothers gospel singing group on Capitol Records. He is currently the pastor of The Refuge in Sherman Oaks, California. One time when I was living in Los Angeles, and was very discouraged in my struggle in the music industry and concert ministry, he encouraged me with these words, to give me a better perspective, which I will never forget: "Which is better, ten thousand screaming fans, or one whole person from your work?" But because this song, which is on my In Concert album, is not included in my Complete Collection of Lyrics, and Poems, since Gregg is the sole lyric writer and composer, so I have included the entire text here, rather than an excerpt.
Warm enchanting summer's night
Moon is shining like candle light
Stars are falling from the sky
Bluebird sings his last lullaby
BEAUTIFUL CREATION, WONDER OF THE NATIONS
EVIDENCE OF SOMEONE'S LOVE FOR ME
SPECTACLE UNEQUALED, NEVER TO BE SEQUELLED
JUST TO THINK HE DID IT ALL FOR ME
(repeat chorus)
Waves are playing on the shore
Knowing who they're intended for
Angels sing in an unknown key
Waiting 'til we are finally free
BEAUTIFUL CREATION, WONDER OF THE NATIONS
EVIDENCE OF SOMEONE'S LOVE FOR ME
SPECTACLE UNEQUALED, NEVER TO BE SEQUELLED
JUST TO THINK HE DID IT ALL FOR ME
(repeat CHORUS)
