An eagle is a very lonely bird, but she flies higher than any other creature. "Mountain Lady," or Mount Zion's lady, is an allegory referring to the rapture or Great Snatching Up of the Body of Christ (all believers in Jesus), normally referred to as the Bride of Christ, when the Church is caught up into the clouds like a bird taking to wing for her final flight or "Freedom Flight." This song became the theme song of James Sundquist's first album Freedom Flight on Lamb and Lion Records.
Mountain lady arise from your nest
Raise the dawn from its time of rest
Then take to wing and flaunt the earth below
And sail on high above the morning snow
'CAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE TO CRY
AND YOU WILL NEVER DIE
NOW IT'S TIME TO SAY GOODBYE
NOW IT'S TIME TO FLY
MOUNTAIN LADY, ARE YOUR READY?
